Shadowridge kitchens. People are spending more time in the kitchen than ever before. According to realtor.com, “the kitchen has become the most valuable room in real estate.” The report says “A trophy kitchen sells your home better than anything else.”The kitchen is also the room most mentioned in real estate listings. Most studies will show you that kitchen remodels typically usually sell faster and of course at a better price. What should you do if you are planning on selling? How do you get the numbers to work? Here is a list of kitchen renovation projects that often make sense to invest in if you're selling your house and your kitchen is dated. 1. Paint your cabinets (and replace the hardware) The most expensive part of a kitchen remodel is the cabinets. And, as luck would have it, it's the easiest one to save on, provided that your cabinets are in decent shape. Many kitchens have dated cabinets that function well, but just don't look nice. So, rather than replacing your cabinets, paint them instead! And, while you're at it, upgrade the hardware as well. White is by far the most popular color for cabinets. Not only will it make your kitchen look better, but it will make your space look larger. And, this usually only takes a few days to do. For hardware upgrades, generally brushed nickel or a silver look is ideal, and this matches stainless steel appliances if you have them. 2. Upgrade appliances Replacing the appliances is an upgrade that usually more than pays for itself. Not only will your kitchen look better and more up to date. Stainless Steel and dark appliances are the most popular, and you can find some great deals on them. 3. Upgrade your counter tops (and sink) It’s common to see warm, upgraded modern quartz or granite countertops and upgraded backsplashes. Look for a neutral and popular granite or quartz counter top that will go with your cabinets. Generally lighter is better as it's more universally appealing and makes your space look larger. When you replace the counter top, you will usually need to replace the sink with it. Big, practical sinks are everywhere, both in model homes and in online home-style magazines. They are often stainless steel. The faucet on your kitchen sink is remarkably easy to change, and replacement faucets are not over the top expensive. This is why I think that replacing the faucet at your sink is another easy and cost-efficient way to improve your kitchen. 4. Paint A fresh coat of paint will do wonders for your kitchen (and the rest of your home). It will make your house look newer and more up to date. And, it will look cleaner. Painting is one of the best low-cost home improvements without breaking the bank! 5. Upgrading your kitchen electrical outlets is a simple and inexpensive upgrade that improves the kitchen. Add at least one USB charging outlet. Also add GFCI ( ground fault circuit interrupter) as needed. GFCI outlets are an item property inspectors point out as needed during their inspection.. 6. Potentially refresh or replace flooring Whether or not this is needed depends on what type of flooring you have and its condition. Hardwood floors are currently the most preferred type for kitchens, and if you already have hardwood, you may want to consider refinishing them if they're worn down. If you are have tile and it is dated, linoleum is a low-cost option that comes in many colors and patterns. 7. Kitchen Lighting and islands add real “livable” functionality to a kitchen. They offer eating space and can create a gracious extension from the kitchen into the adjoining living space. Consider adding one is possible. The kitchens in Shadowridge were built using florescent tube lighting which is now dated. Most of the older lighting has been replaced using more modern lighting. More modern fixtures or recessed lighting has become popular. After updating, fresh flowers on your countertop provide an nice impact on thecooking space. Fruits that do not need to be refrigerated (such as apples and bananas) and would have the same effect. These fruits bring beautiful natural colors into your kitchen. Fresh plants are a bright, easy and affordable way to spruce up your kitchen. Removing all clutter is essential. Making all these cost-effective kitchen upgrades will change the appearance of your kitchen dramatically.
